Our most intimate feelings, our spiritual aspirations—these things are at once very personal, yet universal. My work is a celebration of the human spirit, of our desire to connect to each other and to something greater than ourselves. The work tends to be autobiographical in that it deals with revelations along my spiritual and personal path. But what has become more fascinating to me is how my meager realizations have been mirrored and built upon by seekers through the ages. Similar concepts and eternal truths appear over and again through history. The work has become a way of expressing my wonder at the vast implications of the great truths I explore. The act of creation itself is a fundamental part of my own path. But most importantly, at least in the universal sense, we must focus on what our faiths have in common if the world is to achieve eventual peace. Far too many use their beliefs as an excuse to commit acts of cruelty and selfishness. Religion has been all too often a force for divisiveness instead of unity. I hope that I can shed a bit of light on our commonalities through this work. We must all realize that we are part of the same fabric.
